Naofumi Hataya
“Naofumi Hataya (幡谷 尚史 Hataya Naofumi?) is a Japanese composer who has done work for the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
Hataya is a graduate of Rikkyo University. Though he did not initially want a career in music, he was looking to improve his skills, so he sought a job at a music-related company.[1] In 1990, he took a job at Sega, and continues to create sound and music for games to this day.
Hataya’s first work in the Sonic series was for the 8-bit version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, where he was credited as “Nao Chan”. He has since composed for numerous games in the Sonic series, including Sonic the Hedgehog CD with Masafumi Ogata and Sonic Heroes with Jun Senoue.”
